Description
Plans and manages the daily warehouse activities in all compliance related issues, production output, order requirements, and business plans.

Manages the warehouse ensuring the receipt, co-ordination and safety of goods coming through the warehouse including receiving, inventory control and put away activities at a business unit level.

Immune Specific Accountabilities

  • Recognizes and understands flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
  • Responsible for immediately reporting flight/product safety concerns.
  • Participates in proactive risk analysis of flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
  • Recognizes and understands the Just Culture policy.
Specific Accountabilities

  • Operations:
  • Develops and manages material storage processes that assure materials are stored safely, efficiently, and effectively.
  • Prioritize and assign orders to ensure that fill rate goals are maintained at all times.
  • Ensure that orders are picked accurately and shipped on time.
  • Ensure that standards of productivity are monitored, maintained, enforced for Material Handlers.
  • Coordinates and monitors the return of damaged goods and documents all transactions.
  • Ensure that proper licenses (forklift, dangerous goods, WHIMS etc.) are in place for the staff.
  • Ensure the upkeep and safe working order of any equipment (forklift, reach trucks etc.) through preventive maintenance.

Inventory Control:

  • Responsible for the security of warehouse assets.
  • Ensure investigation and correction of all inventory variances, including root cause analysis.
  • Ensure that location validity is maintained for all stock keeping units throughout the warehouse.
  • Ensure daily cycle counts are conducted and variances are reviewed and investigated.
  • Researches and reconciles discrepancies noted during cycle count process.

General:

  • Interfaces with staff and management to resolve discrepancies, answer questions and provide guidance and training on inventory control/warehouse systems.
  • Recommends enhancements to inventory control/warehouse systems.
  • Participates in the recommendation of business unit inventory control and warehouse policy discussions
  • Reviews and recommends updates to company instructions and material policies and procedures.
  • Trains/monitors Material Handlers.
  • Monitors and reports on measures of performance which may include cycle count accuracy and pick volumes.
  • Interacts with Logistics to ensure maximization of freight savings and to communicate priority shipments of incoming materials.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
  • Develops new processes, methods of storage, or recording and coordinates changes with relevant personnel.
  • Ensure the warehouse operation maintains compliance in accordance to all applicable governing policies and procedures.
  • Actively participates in the business unit management team(s), assisting with the development and realization of strategic plans, budgets, goals and outcomes.
  • Exercises authority in hiring, training, career development, performance appraisal, salary adjustments, promotion, discipline, health, safety and the general employee relations of direct reports.
  • Carries out other projects as assigned.
Technical Requirements

  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, negotiation, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of inventory control systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of PC's in the current company operating system environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of inventory control and production management computer systems.
  • Bachelor degree in business administration; or equivalent.
  • Experience in an inventory or manufacturing environment.
Background Information


The typical minimum level of education to perform this job competently is equivalent to completion of a university (bachelor) program involving acquisition of an advanced understanding of complex concepts and procedures in an area of work related to assigned duties.

This specialized training is often recognized by a degree.


Directly/indirectly related work experience representing continuous learning and required for someone to perform this job competently is three to six years.


Ongoing work assignments typically have clearly defined goals, but no (or mínimal) direction with respect to what action steps to follow.

The incumbent's education, training, and previous experience will help ensure that the goal of the assignment can be clearly defined and understood (even if that means just knowing what relevant questions to ask), but the required/optional approaches to achieving the goal will often remain unclear, undefined and/or untested until the work assignment is well underway.
