DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Reporting to the leadership team of Staffing, Scheduling and Workforce Planning, you will play an integral role in supporting the team.

You will be responsible for coordinating, developing, planning, evaluating and implementing processes to support day to day managerial activities as well as long term plans and activities.

Duties include editing and composing correspondence, meeting logistics and schedules, appointments, statistical reporting, presentation development, phone reception, preparing staff payroll and/or schedules other related duties as assigned.

The Administrative Assistant I will support and promote the customer focus philosophy of Lakeridge Health. This position requires the ability to work flexible hours.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Office Administration (Executive) or Medical Office Administration Diploma, or equivalent combination of education & experience;
  • Significant experience in a secretarial/administrative role preferably in a health care setting;
  • Intermediate level of computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint and Access) (tested);
  • Typing speed for data entry of 60 wpm (tested);
  • Demonstrated shorthand/speedwriting skills and ability to transcribe and compose minutes preferred;
  • Proven ability to assess inquiries and problems and exercise good judgment in making the appropriate referrals, utilizing discretion;
  • Proven adherence to strict confidentiality;
  • Demonstrated success in effectively organizing and prioritizing work assignments;
  • Proven ability to work productively and independently;
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fastpaced environment with frequent interruptions;
  • Proven to be detailed and results orientated;
  • Proven ability to collate information and perform internet research;
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills enabling you to deal effectively with staff and external contacts;

  • Must have a satisfactory performance record;
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety and participation in regular inservice in this area; and
  • Proven good attendance with ability to maintain the same standard;
