Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Exceptionally knowledgeable about the hotel's facilities and services
  • Hire / schedule and train a knowledgeable all members of Front Desk Team
  • Ensure all Guest issues are handled and dealt with in an appropriate manner
  • Set and follow operational policies for Front Desk to ensure all Guest Reservations are accurate, and occupancy is maximized.
  • Ensure proper credit control and handling of financial transactions
  • Schedule staff based on operational needs, while adhering to labour budgets.
  • Be efficient, effective and responsive with inquiries and requests using excellent communicatio
  • Conduct approved staff meetings, and attend hotel Department Head Meetings
  • Know responsibilities of Fire Safety Plan, WHMIS, and Health & Safety
  • Act as a Manager on Duty and assist in other departments when required

Qualifications / Requirements:


  • Minimum 3 years related experience in Hotel Management / Front Office Operations
  • Postsecondary education, preferably a degree / diploma in a related discipline
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Must be able to work in a team and maintain a positive attitude within a very busy environment
  • Proficient in use of computers, with knowledge of MS Office, Windows and Opera an asset
  • Must be available for all shifts including weekends, and statutory holidays
  • Must possess high motivational skills with the ability to lead with little supervision
