    ROLE SUMMARYOur respected mining client is in search of a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to bolster their mining operations.

    The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe repair of mobile equipment, including mining excavators, loaders, haul trucks, water trucks, dozers, and graders.


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conduct electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs on heavy equipment.
    • Perform preventative maintenance both in the shop and in the mine/pit.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues.
    • Weld steel components as per specifications.
    • Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental protocols.
    • Collaborate with the team to enhance productivity and minimize downtime.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    DESIRED SKILLS

    • Welding experience with heavy mobile mining equipment.
    • Experience with Hitachi Excavator or Liebherr Truck (T264).REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
    • Minimum of 5 years of heavy equipment mechanic experience in open-cut mining environments.
    • Proficiency working on CAT 789, LIE T264, KOM 830E, HIT EX5600, LIE R996 size equipment and larger.
    • Experience in major component replacement, overhauls, and machine rebuilds.
    • Proficiency in mobile equipment diagnostics.
    • Fluency in English.

    EDUCATION

    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • MSHA Part 48 Certification (Training provided if needed). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
    • Capability to work and live at high altitudes (12,000 ft. elevation) for extended periods.
    • Comfortable working in extreme winter conditions with temperatures regularly below zero degrees Fahrenheit.
    • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk long distances, and climb ladders.
    • Willingness to work extended 12-hour shifts.
    • Availability for night shifts (5:30 p.m. – 5:30 a.m.) for seven days at a time.
    • No auditory or visual impairments restricting driving ability or discerning alerts/alarms.
    • Quick response/reaction times, arm-hand steadiness, and manual dexterity.
    • Weight within equipment manufacturer's limit of 350 lbs.

    Work schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off, rotating 12-hour shifts (days and nights).
