**Program Overview - Central Services, Finance

We are looking for two Financial Analyst's who will be reporting to the Director, Financial Planning & Strategic Analysis, the Financial Analyst plays a critical role in partnering with program areas to drive innovative financial modelling, operational efficiencies, insightful data analytics to ensure that preparation of day to day and month to month functions are completed to the highest standards.


What You Will Do

  • Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly dashboards, monthly reports, funding packages, and other adhoc reports as necessary.
  • Assist in the continuous development of data visualizations, dashboard development and "storytelling" monthly reports to stakeholders.
  • Support program stakeholders with analyzing and evaluating program/unit/division level financials on a monthly basis.
  • Successfully collaborate with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, controls and provide support on special requests when necessary.
  • Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
  • Allocate and prepare monthly Income Statement and Balance Sheet analysis reports for management.
  • Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks).
  • Assisting in modelling and analyzing large volume of data as part of business case development to help drive decision making.
  • Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process.
  • Coordinate adhoc projects as necessary.
  • Participate in various departmentwide initiatives.

What You Bring to the Team

  • University Degree or College Diploma in accounting required.
  • Experience with bank cash management systems.
  • Experience in financial accounting, including general ledger maintenance and reconciliations.
  • Intermediate experience using MS Excel (financial and data functions).

What Will Set You Apart

  • Knowledge of financial statements and financial statement analysis, including the ability to analyze
- cash flow and the impact on the financial statements.

  • Strong planning, organizing, decisionmaking, interpersonal, analytical, and lateral thinking skills.
  • Experience with MS Great Plains, Management Reporter, Ariett, and Insite considered an asset.
  • Ability to adhere to strict periodic reporting deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
