Position Summary The Wine Educator & Tour Guide at Robert Mondavi Winery is a dynamic frontline ambassador responsible for delivering world-class wine education, public and private tastings, and immersive winery tours. This role is central to creating memorable guest experiences that reflect the iconic Robert Mondavi Winery brand and values of Constellation Brands. The Wine Educator & Tour Guide engages visitors with compelling storytelling, expert wine knowledge, and personalized service, ensuring every guest leaves with a deeper connection to our wines, heritage, and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

• Wine Education and Guest Experience – Create and deliver engaging, informative, and interactive wine presentations for guests of all knowledge levels, in both group and private settings. Conduct guided tastings, pairing experiences, and educational seminars that highlight the history, philosophy, and winemaking techniques of Robert Mondavi Winery. Share the winery's story, viticultural practices, and brand values, actively fostering meaningful connections with visitors. Encourage guest engagement, answer questions, and tailor experiences to individual interests and knowledge levels, ensuring a memorable and personalized visit. Drive sales conversion of wine and merchandise, and convert visitors into wine club members to support the winery's direct-to-consumer growth and business objectives.
• Tour Guide Duties – Lead guided tours of the winery, vineyards, and production facilities, providing engaging and accurate information about winemaking, the estate's legacy, and the Napa Valley region. Conduct tours with professionalism, enthusiasm, and attention to guest safety and satisfaction. Adapt content and pacing for diverse audiences (beginners, enthusiasts, professionals) while maintaining the tour timeline. Coordinate with hospitality and operations teams to ensure smooth logistics and a seamless guest experience.
• Hospitality and Service Standards – Deliver seamless, high-touch hospitality across all guest touchpoints, from initial greeting to final farewell. Identify and address guest needs, respond to questions and concerns, and maintain a warm, professional demeanor consistent with Robert Mondavi Winery standards. Support the execution of special events, VIP experiences, and private bookings, including event logistics and collaboration with the hospitality team to ensure flawless delivery.
• Wine Education & Brand Standards – Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Robert Mondavi Winery portfolio, current releases, winemaking processes, and industry trends. Share accurate information with guests and uphold the winery's brand standards and commitment to quality. Collect guest feedback and relay to management to contribute to continuous improvement of the visitor experience.
• Operational and Cross-Functional Teamwork – Assist with daily set-up and break-down of tasting rooms, tour routes, and hospitality spaces. Maintain cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards; support inventory management for wine, merchandise, and educational materials. Collaborate with colleagues across departments to optimize guest flow and operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience in hospitality, event coordination, or guest services; wine industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach to working with internal and external teams.
• Demonstrated financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and the ability to interpret KPIs.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and evenings, to support guest programming and business needs.
• Strong attention to detail, a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences, and a commitment to upholding brand standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Wine Knowledge: WSET Level 2 (or higher) or equivalent wine education required.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in hospitality, guest services, or wine education; prior experience as a tour guide or in the wine industry strongly preferred.
• Communication: Outstanding verbal presentation skills; ability to convey complex ideas in an engaging and approachable manner.
• Customer Service: Demonstrated passion for providing exceptional guest experiences; adaptable and responsive to diverse audiences.
• Organization: Strong time management, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Tech Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with reservation systems (Tock, TripleSeat) a plus.
• Teamwork: Collaborative, positive, and proactive approach to working with colleagues and leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in hospitality, wine studies, or a related field preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Flexible schedule, including availability on weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.
• Valid U.S. Passport; ability to travel up to 10% for training or events.

Physical Requirements / Other

• Able to lift 40 lbs on occasion.
• Work in a normal office environment. Sit at a workstation for up to 2-hour intervals. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Must be flexible in work style, location, and schedule: travel up to 30%, weekends and evenings may be required.

Compensation

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Our compensation is based on cost of labor. The pay range may reflect several US geographic markets. We may pay more or less than the posted range and the range may be modified in the future. Factors include location minimums, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business needs. At Constellation Brands, hiring at the high end of the range is not typical and compensation decisions depend on facts and circumstances.
