The Administrative Research Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, communication and project management of clinical research activities and coordination of grant administration within the Functional Imaging program.

The Manager works in collaboration with both the clinical and research teams on the development, writing and implementation of protocols, the facilitation of grant funding opportunities, study logistics, trial budget management, and the identification and development of new and ongoing clinical and research partnership opportunities.


What you'll do

  • Oversee ongoing clinical research trials by ensuring departmental compliance with procedures and protocols, coordinating staff education/training for new clinical trials, and liaising with external partnering organizations and the Research Ethics Board regarding issues such as required approvals. Facilitate and prepare packages for Health Canada Clinical Trial Applications in conjunction with the Chemistry staff and Quality Assurance Manager. Follow up on and assists investigators in resolving related issues.
  • Provide direction to designated research staff for the maintenance of date/documentation of ongoing Clinical Trial Applications related to the use of 18FFluorodeoxyglucose in oncology for both adult and pediatric patients.

What you bring
Education, Training and Experience

  • A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's of Science degree in a Health discipline or related field and three (3) years of recent, related experience in a similar role in a healthcare facility conducting clinical research trials.
Skills & Knowledge

  • Superior organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, proven leadership skills and team/collaborative skills within a research environment. High level of analytical accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act
