Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor before starting repairs
- Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems including:
- Chassis, frame, cab, body, engine and drive train, air brakes, steering, fuel and hydraulics using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment
- Refinish equipment using industrystandard paint equipment, facilities and materials
- Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of trucktrailer systems including structural, brake and electrical systems
- Diagnose and repair electronic and electrical systems
- Installation of new truck accessories
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 1 year of experience as a Body Shop Technician
- Valid Class 5, prefer 1 OR 3 Driver's License with air endorsement
- Fabrication & welding experience required
- Aluminum welding is an asset
- Superior mechanical aptitude with an indepth knowledge of heavy duty truck repairs
- Strong computer skills
- Detailoriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong personal organizational skills as they relate to workload, time management and setting priorities in an unsupervised environment
- Effective problem solving skills
Compensation Rate
- $24 - $48 per hour
- Pay rate will be determined based on previous experience, relevant certifications and apprenticeship level
