Position Summary
We are looking for a Tech Co-op Student/Intern to join us for a 4- 12 month (12 month preferred) period, starting in September

2023. This position will be based out of our Florenceville location.


The Tech Co-op Student/Intern will provide support and coaching on new digital tools for Operators and Supervisors on the shop floor that will help the factory teams communicate and make decisions more efficiently and effectively as it relates to safety, quality, and production.

This role will also require line studies, tracking, and communication support on AI solutions.


The Team

As part of this transformation, we are making significant investments into our data systems, structures and policies, and building digital products for our customers, key suppliers and McCain team members to enable digital processes and data-driven automation over time.

Our Technology team's goal is to inspire growth through innovative technology experiences. Our digital teams are key to deliver this ambition.

McCain has established digital teams in Agriculture and Commercial and we are now looking forward to expanding our investments in Manufacturing embedded in our MDIxAI program.


What You Will Be Working On

Learn digital tools as a prerequisite to deployment-
Test various tools inside power apps:


  • Learn how to navigate inside all the digital tools:
-
Learn the feedback process and implement:


  • Familiarize with process environment and plant teams
-
Own overall enablement of MDI x AI initiatives at plant level

  • Track progress against deliverables
  • Coordinate tasks and timelines across teams (e.g., link between product owners and plant teams)
  • Resolve deployment roadblocks. Escalate to Digital Mfg. Lead as needed.
  • Gather relevant inputs and feedback from key stakeholders, including product owners, plant teams, technical experts (tech, engineering & data)
  • Resolve adoption obstacles to ensure long lasting solution adoption
  • Identify and empower solutions "advocates" within plant teams to boost adoption

Report progress to Digital Mfg.

Leadership and raise blockers, with solution-oriented mindset to continue driving program forward in a timely manner

Support AI solution through:


  • Working closely with Tech services for line testing and support
  • Participating in line testing. i.e. weight loss testing, sugar analysis, etc
  • Providing feedback on results and plans
  • Working closely with plant employees and communicate testing plans
  • Communicating any blockers/issues to deployment lead.

What You Will Learn

  • Digitized tools and uses within manufacturing to help team performance
  • Effective communication techniques while onboarding and adopting digitized tools in a manufacturing environment across various functional roles
  • Presentation skills while sharing AI project results, adoption results of digital tools, etc.
  • Importance of cross functional teamwork within tasks and projects
  • Various specialized roles within various McCain Teams that may be of interest for future summer or full time career aspirations

  • Ability to build rapport across functional teams, meet with the business with excellent business acumen
  • Act as a trusted ambassador to the manufacturing team; Coach, mentor and guide them to accomplish MDIxAI program goals.
  • Presentation skills are an asset and the ability to create teamwork.
