Mission


The Requirements Manager (RM) is primarily responsible for the development of the Requirements Management Plan and maintaining it throughout the project life-cycle, and its implementation during the design phase.


The RM will also develop and maintain associated processes and procedures, including ad hoc training of staff, as well as reporting requirements management progress to leadership and customers.

The RM will report to the SESA Deputy Manager and will work in close coordination with persons in charge of requirements management for the OTG four design subconsultants, with the Contracting Authority and with the RSSOM requirements manager.

The RM will work in all requirements and design stages of the projects assigned.


Role and responsibilities

  • The RM will manage requirements in a metro civil works environment for the following equipment and functions:
  • Station and Tunnel Civil Works
  • Safety
  • Security
  • Cybersecurity
  • Fire & Life Safety
  • RAM
  • Tunnel Ventilation
- responsible for the delivery of all aspects of requirements management for the consortium's works and infrastructure.
- establish and implement a Requirements Management Plan that provides requirements governance for all project responsibilities and ensure that the consortium is at all times in compliance with the plan
- be the consortium's contact for all communications regarding requirements with the RSSOM consortium, Contracting Authority, the North Civil consortium, consortium's ISA and Contracting Authority ISA, and others on requirements matters related to the Works.
- monitor the review of designs with delivery teams to ensure design specifications, guides, standards, and work processes are compliant to requirements and standards
- contribute to the project execution plans in conjunction with the delivery team
- provide ad hoc technical training through instructor led and virtual training sessions for the Technical Team on specific requirements topics
- review changes in incoming/emerging standards and corporate requirements to provide input on potential impacts to existing projects
- participate in resolving technical issues with other areas of the organization that may include constructability/operational requirements and technical reviews
- provide support to the other departments through commissioning and Entry into Service
- be able to contribute to whole life-cycle costing and feasibility assessments
- contribute to plans, schedules, detailed phases of engineering for the project in collaboration with consortium's controls, contracts, procurement, construction and T&C
- ensure deliverables are produced according to the project schedule with high quality
- support the creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction
- build, strengthen, guide and mentor the Technical Project team


Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor of Engineering or comparable technical degree


Years of experience: 5+ years of experience in a similar field


Technical competencies:


  • Familiarity with IEEE/ISO/IEC 15288, IEEE/ISO/IEC 29148, and EN 5012
  • Experience with IBM DOORS as a user (administrator preferred) managing multiple subsystems
  • Experience performing requirements traceability and verification
  • Familiarity with agile and waterfall methodologies, and architecture definition
  • Experience with V&V processes is an asset
