Erindale Early Education is currently seeking a dynamic Centre Supervisor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Responsible for the oversight and implementation of all policies and procedures as set by the Erindale Early Education Academy, and the legislated requirements set out in the CCEYA
  • Supervise staff and monitor compliance and contraventions through observations and discussion with educators
  • Respond to family questions and requests that align with Erindale Early Education Academy's Program Statement
  • Respond to family concerns in a professional and positive manner
  • Respond to family questions and requests that align with the Erindale Early Education Academy's Program Statement
  • Assist the Director of the Centre with the daily operations and administration of the centre
  • Supervise intake of new clients and their families
  • Hiring of new staff members
  • Educate and mentor current staff to ensure compliance with Policy and Procedures and are in compliance with CCEYA
  • Responsible for keeping track of all Employee files, and updating as needed
  • Preparation of newsletters and other electronic communications to families, staff and volunteers
  • Ensure that all appropriate documentation is filled out daily
  • Facilitate monthly staff meetings and development workshops
  • Conduct annual staff appraisals
  • Reviews all food items to ensure food allergies/restrictions are consistently being monitored
  • Provides feedback to parents and families in regards to child's overall wellbeing and progress.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators and in good standing
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification
  • Uptodate Vulnerable Sector Police Reference Check
  • Uptodate Immunization Record including at least 2 doses of Covid Vaccine
  • Must have at least 35 years daycare experience
  • Excellent problemsolving skills
  • A commitment to diversity and equity
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and great communication skills, both written and oral
  • Flexibility regarding assigned working hours
  • Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort when required: Lifting up to 45 lbs, bending and stooping, sitting crossed legged on the floor, etc., without assistance.
  • Must be able to work outdoors (playground) for at least 2 hours daily yearround if necessary; may be exposed to heat, humidity or cold, etc.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritysetting (time management) skills
  • Has led their past classrooms into success which is defined by the success of its students and peers; can now translate this into teaching their own team.
  • Openminded, teachable, dedicated to excellence, driven, creative and organized
  • Able to multitask and prioritize a variety of tasks while work in a fast pace and dynamic environment
  • A capacity to work with a team and be part of a large multiservice organization while still being able to work independently
  • Knowledge of behaviour and classroom management techniques
  • Working knowledge of How Does Learning Happen?
  • Capacity to work with a large team and provide inhouse staff training
  • Experience in Human Resources Management including the hiring and evaluation of staff
  • Ability to monitor teachers to ensure the quality of teaching methods and support of program goals
  • Ability to make informed decisions and follow through
  • Ability to exercise good judgment
  • Ability to handle emergencies and crises
  • Familiarity with staff scheduling
  • Understanding of High Scope curriculum

ABOVE & BEYOND:


  • Has been in a leadership role before
  • Has additional Post-Secondary Education that pertains to Children and/or has their teaching certificate
  • Has ambition to grow within the organization
  • Has a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Self manages ongoing professional development
  • Experience in dealing with food restrictions/allergies, etc.

Salary:
From $25.00 per hour
