Job Description:
In this role you will help develop a growing climate risk practice by:
- Supporting the company's internal Subject Matter Experts.
- Providing oversight to junior staff in the preparation of climate data intensive assignments.
- Providing technical advice and senior review (QA/QC) of climate informed projects and deliverables.
- Developing and enhancing internal climate science, modelling and data capabilities.
- Assisting with business development and project pursuits.
- Participating in client meetings and Professional Associations.
Job Requirements:
- 8+ years of climate science experience.
- Detailed knowledge of the different types of climate change analyses, strengths/weaknesses of different climate models, downscaling techniques, and future climate scenarios.
- Aptitude for conducting both qualitative and quantitative research and data analysis, including statistical analysis, modelling and forecasting, as well as scientific data visualization.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with an ability to effectively engage both technical and nontechnical audiences, as well as an ability to clearly summarize findings and offer meaningful insight.
- An orientation towards client service, including the ability to elicit and understand client needs and desired outcomes.
- Effective project management and organizational skills, including an ability to manage competing priorities.
