Position Overview:


As a Property Tax Assessment Office Assistant, you will be an integral part of our property tax team, contributing to the assessment, valuation, and compliance of various properties during the busy summer season.

This role offers a chance to work on real-world projects, collaborate with experienced professionals, and develop practical skills in property tax assessment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist in preparation, copying, mailing and follow up of Request of Information documents for nonresidential and multifamily properties.
  • Process Municipal Government Act 299/300 requests.
  • Training provided to participate in property inspections and evaluations.
  • Data entry and updating systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance for reporting.

Qualifications:


Currently enrolled in Real Estate Appraisal & Assessment with Lakeland College, or in a bachelor's degree program such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Commerce or Business with a recognized post-secondary institution.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Basic understanding of property valuation principles and property tax regulations is a plus.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience with Apex, CAMAlot, CAMAmap or similar programs is an asset.
