1 Full-time, Term Position (18 months).Is This Role for You?
Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain Management, this position will support primarily Edmonton Airports' Strategic Business Units by providing expert P2P processes (procure-to-pay) of pertinent goods and services supporting the overall operation of the organization.
This includes defining requirements in collaboration with Strategic Business Units towards achieving overall best value within the parameters of policy and regulation while meeting the needs of internal customers; working with Strategic Sourcing Specialists on procurement strategies that align to the best outcomes thus like pertinent RFX's to support long term goals, and other related requirements; the Purchasing Specialist has strong cross-functional linkages to all SBUs.
This position is an integral part of the Materials Management Department within the Supply Chain Management Group.Day in The Life
The Purchasing Specialist is a "customer-centric" professional, able to interpret information and translate into expectations of the organization, meet concurrent deadlines, independently solve problems, prioritize requests, and handle multiple tasks efficiently
This role will also:
- Perform daytoday expert P2P activities for all goods and services (inventory and noninventory) for EIA's maintenance and operational needs, thus like pertinent financial processes (reconcile POs against invoices and advise of discrepancies, etc.).
- Ensure successful execution of strategic sourcing strategies.
- Establish and maintain communications with internal customers regarding fulfillment of requisitions.
- Coordinate with the Contracts Management team to onboard new suppliers in the ERP system.
- Maintain procurement records such as items purchased, costs, delivery, product quality and inventories.
- Liaise with end users to ensure needs are met, including working with the Strategic Sourcing Specialist on analyzing requests and assessing needs, recommending suitable product alternatives, quality and other terms and conditions for purchases.
- Work with SCM team members towards improving purchasing practices.
- Focus on developing the most effective relationships with key suppliers, to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance to terms of contract.
- Working with the Strategic Sourcing Specialist to enforce pertinent agreements' commercial terms and KPI's, thus like suggest any pertinent changes in Minima and Maxima based on market analysis with relevant vendors to mitigate risk of shortages.
- Ensure internal customers are fully informed of and are in adherence with procurement policies and procedures.
- Assist in improving Procurement procedures and policy and ensure that they are followed.

Special Requirements:
You Have:
- Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in Business Administration or Supply Chain Managementrelated field.
- Completion of, or working towards, a Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) Designation or equivalent.
- Equivalent experience may be considered. Knowledge about Airport operations would be an asset.
- Experienced in P2P processes and familiar with RFXs processes, Procurement Law, and contracts for goods & services supply.
- Experienced in indirect procurement with direct involvement in preparation and negotiation of high value contracts is highly preferred.
- Experienced in Brokerage Services (import & export requirements & logistics)
- Working knowledge of digital contract organization and contract lifecycle management
- 5+ years of recent purchasing activity. 2+ years of experience in MRO goods and services (electrical, mechanical, automotive, airfield, etc.) would be considered an asset.
