As part of the Global Capital Markets group, the Equity Research Associate Internship is designed to provide co-op Undergraduate and/or MBA and Masters students with exposure to various elements of the investment industry.

Research Associates play an integral role in the Equity Research department by providing crucial assistance to Equity Research Analysts. Research Associates gain hands-on experience in performing financial analyses such as market comparisons, company valuations and financial modeling.


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Create and maintain spreadsheets including financial models and industry databases
  • Generate tables and graphs for use in research publications and presentations
  • Conduct primary research from industry and financial sources
  • Provide writeups on companies and industries
  • Prepare marketing presentations using PowerPoint

Do you have the skills and requirements that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if:

  • You are currently enrolled in post-secondary education.
  • You love to learn and envision yourself working for an international organization that heavily invests in your future.
  • You enjoy being involved in extracurricular activities such as conferences, clubs, competitions, and/or hackathons.
  • A strong record of academic achievement
  • Strong accounting, analytical and math skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent Excel skills are required
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines, sometimes for extended periods of time
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg or FactSet would be an asset
  • Enrollment in or completion of the Canadian Securities Course would be beneficial.
  • Interest in pursuing (or enrollment in) the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program is an asset
