DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent will provide customer service to students purchasing any Campus Store items for the campus institutions and programs.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Processes daily sales using Point of Sale Cash Register for cash, credit card, etc. transactions. Secures cash, float and vault contents.
  • Offers customer service by answering enquires via phone and walkins, by finding books, supplies, taking ring/jacket orders, etc.
  • Advises supervisor on inventory status (i.e. Kleenex, Advil, Tylenol, Chapstick, hand sanitizer, etc). Also checks the expiry of all perishables at front cash (i.e. film, candy, etc.)
  • Assist short term cashiers on P.O.S. Cash Registers.
  • Processes refunds for books, clothing, supplies, etc. while adhering to Campus Store policies and procedures.
  • Processes OSAP and sponsored deferments following Campus Store procedures.
  • Keeps the cash counters clean and tidy.
  • Cleans and straightens merchandise and advises shipping/receiving staff of what needs restocking.
  • Involved in physical inventory count on a biannual basis.
  • Assists with various Campus Store duties as required (i.e.
Open House, Ring/Jacket Days, and Convocation).

  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Twoyear diploma in Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or Management Studies.
  • Knowledge of Bookware and POS training is an asset.
  • Minimum one year experience in a retail environment, including cash responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of cash register operations, credit sales terminals, and security tag and scanning systems.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and problemsolving skills.
  • Tact, integrity, diplomacy and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be selfdirected and motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.

$21.58;

Four Year Rate:
$25.07

Required Experience

Hours: 35 hours per week (1) one hour lunch; Mon - Thurs 10:00am - 6:00pm; Fri 8:00am - 4:00pm (June - August, Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 4:00pm)
