The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a
Desktop Support Technician to join our
Glencore
Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.

The position will be based in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.

This is a unionized contract position, up to one year.

Work location is not accessible by public transportation.

Duties and Accountabilities:

The Desktop Support Technician is primarily responsible for providing on-going support for all technology needs to all employees of Sudbury Operations.

The incumbent works in partnership with other members of the Information Systems Department and customers from Sudbury Operations.

Rapidly changing business requirements combined with constant advances in information technology, demands that the Desktop Support Technician maintain the skills necessary to provide the client with proactive consultation and resolution.

Education and Skills
In order to succeed in this role, the incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

Computer Science four year degree or three years college degree with a minimum of three years experience with proven technical ability in an Information Services environment.
Must possess business knowledge as well as soft skills (leadership, project planning, organizing, judgment, analysis, communication, management and decision making)
