About Us:
We offer counselling services to children, teens, and parents through various forms of therapeutic programming.

Based on each client's individual emotional, social or behavioural concerns - our counsellors develop a plan to help overcome these difficulties, and learn meaningful coping strategies to help them reach their personal goals.

In addition to our counselling services, we also offer respite care to various community agencies with children in care. Our respite services includes programming that caters to each child's special needs.


Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced child and youth counsellor to run our respite and counselling programs. The counsellor will be responsible for preparing and implementing therapeutic activities 1-on-1 to children in our office.


Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement programs that cater to each client's emotional, social or behavioural needs
• Collaborate with parents and caregivers to discuss their child's progress
• Maintain client files and input data into our confidential software platform
• Conduct intake/consultation meetings with families and provide details on how the program may benefit them
• Schedule sessions with families and maintain an organized schedule
• Invoice families based off services provided
• Utilization of evidencebased practices in sessions, as discussed with the program director
• For respite clients: planning activities and outings for clients, including the transportation to and from (within Hamilton only)

Requirements:

• Significant experience working with children facing emotional, social and behavioural difficulties
• Strong knowledge of trauma informed and evidence based therapeutic practices
• CPR/First Aid
• Clear vulnerable sector and child welfare check
• Valid G Class license, and access to a personal and reliable vehicle
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

please note:
ability and willingness to transport clients is a requirement for this position

Compensation:
Wages will be based off experience, ranging from $20-25/hr with hours ranging between 20-40hrs per week. Kilometers driven will be reimbursed at $0.50/km.


Schedule:
This position will be primarily afternoons/evenings and Saturday mornings. There is some flexibility in start/end times as our work is all appointment based.
