Description
SUMMARY:
The Assembler I constructs D-Sub & High-Density Connectors and/or subassemblies by performing various standardized techniques and operations using simple hand and mechanical tools.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Prepares assembly area: Determines materials and machinery by reading work orders, following production drawings and/or receiving verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed. Verifies parts by comparing provided part with part description in work documentation.
- Builds assemblies and subassemblies: Aligns components and parts in specified relationships to each other in fixtures and/or other handling devices, using various hand tools and mechanical devices.
- Maintains record of work progress: Records results of job and/or problems with job in work documentation. Verifies quantity of lot by hand counting or weigh counting using standard scales.
- Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to Unit Manager.
- May be required to perform basic test functions by using soldering tools and machines, and operating ultrasonic welder.
- Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on tools as required.
- Periodically assists in other production areas at the discretion of the Unit Manager or Supervisor.
- Provides training and backup as requested by Unit Manager or Supervisor.
- Occasionally degreases parts at various stages of production using cleaning solutions and
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent AND 12 years of related assembly experience
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:
None required. J-STD-001 certification desirable
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of manufacturing, operating and inspection techniques.
- Knowledge of quality control plans.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is a manufacturing position.
