What you'll do
The Theatre Department at Capilano University is looking for a parttime instructor to teach sound operation, theory and design for the theatre. The instructor will work in the Technical Theatre Program and will also work with students in Acting for Stage and Screen, Musical Theatre and the Costuming for Stage and Screen programs.
Other responsibilities will include attending production meetings, department meetings and rehearsals as needed.
What you'll bring
A Bachelor's degree, certification or equivalent qualification from an accredited college or training program is required. Professional experience will be considered.
A Master's in a relevant area is preferred.
Previous teaching at a University or postsecondary institution is preferred.
5 Years of Sound Design experience required.
Must have excellent communication and collaboration skills, demonstrate patience and leadership skills, be energetic, driven, creative, and dependable.
Proven ability to teach adult learners and to create a learning environment that supports a diverse student population.

Salary Scale

- $7,854 per instructional section to a maximum of $12,620 per instructional section based on previous experience. Scale placement will be completed according to the Collective Agreement.
