    About the Opportunity

    Carmichael Engineering Ltd is looking for full-time HVAC Technicians to support its commercial service operations across multiple locations, including Bridgewater, NS, Moncton and Bathurst, NB, and Richmond, BC.

    You will play a pivotal role in delivering reliable commercial HVAC and refrigeration services across preventative maintenance, planned repairs, and emergency service calls, while supporting long-term customer relationships.

    In this position, you will be primarily responsible for servicing a portfolio of commercial and industrial facilities, ensuring systems are maintained, repaired, and operated safely, efficiently, and in line with Carmichael's structured service standards.

    More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems
    • Troubleshooting system issues and performing diagnostic assessments
    • Completing preventative maintenance and routine inspections across assigned buildings
    • Carrying out scheduled repairs and component replacements identified through maintenance programs
    • Responding to service calls, including participation in an on-call rotation as required
    • Developing familiarity with assigned sites, systems, and customer requirements
    • Recording labour, materials, and service details accurately using mobile work order tools
    • Adhering to company procedures, safety standards, and safe driving practices at all times

    About You

    To qualify, you will need a Journeyperson certification in HVAC/Refrigeration, with 5+ years of experience working as a commercial HVAC and refrigeration technician.

    The following are required:

    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
    • Ability and willingness to travel within the assigned service area
    • Availability to participate in an on-call rotation as required

    Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

    • Journeyperson-level experience servicing commercial and industrial HVAC systems
    • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capability across air handling, rooftop, and related systems
    • Experience performing preventative maintenance and scheduled repair work
    • Comfort working independently in the field with structured scheduling support
    • Familiarity with mobile or digital work order and time-tracking systems
    • Commitment to safety standards and safe work practices
    • Ability to build rapport with customers and maintain professional relationships
    • Experience working in unionized environments (asset)
    • Experience with gas, oil, or burner systems (asset)
