When you join CIMA+, we welcome you to a place that you can call home.Job Description Mission**Our team wishes to complement its skill set with the expertise of a biologist with more than five years of experience in the areas of natural environment characterization, impact studies and authorization requests and permitting. The biologist will act as a project manager in the CIMA+ Environment team in Sherbrooke.
Their primary responsibility will consist of ensuring hands-on supervision of all technical, financial, and human aspects of various types of multidisciplinary projects (transportation, industrial, etc.) for both public and private clients.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead, coordinate and conduct natural environment characterization studies, environmental impact studies, and prepare authorization and permit requests for largescale projects in various types of environment
- Supervise, and conduct wildlife and plant inventories and delimitation of natural environments, as needed
- Plan and supervise field environmental work and construction site activities (inventories, followup, surveys, etc.)
- Draft permit and environmental authorization requests and ensure followup thereon with appropriate governmental authorities for projects of various types and scale
- Verify and validate the methodology used and review deliverables to ensure quality control on the work performed
- Generate and analyze environmental geomatic data (MapInfo, ArcGis, CAD) in collaboration with our Montrealbased Geomatic Department
- Coordinate and supervise human and material resources assigned to projects under their responsibility
- Lead and participate in the preparation of proposals (strategy, work plan, meeting with client, budget, etc.), and contribute to the department's business development efforts
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biology or an equivalent
- At least five years of relevant experience
- Command of inventory techniques
- Knowledge of the applicable municipal, provincial and federal regulations
- Aptitudes in project management (staff supervision, schedule and budget monitoring, etc.)
- Experience with municipal, provincial, and federal authorization and permit request processes
- Command of the French language and good writing and communication skills
