    MacEwan University has a long-standing history of providing quality nursing education that prepares graduates to lead and succeed innursing practiceand beyond. The Faculty of Nursingis organized intofive departments.Courses deliveredwithin thesedepartments are affiliated with the Bachelor of Science in Nursing,the Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing, the Psychiatric Nursing Diploma and other continuing education credentialsand learning experiences.

    The Department of Human Health and Science in the Faculty of Nursing invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2024, subject to final budgetary approval.

    The Department of Human Health and Science delivers courses illuminating the importance of science and health within the Discipline of Nursing. Facultymembersin the Department of Human Health and Science are experts in their discipline-specific fields and roles, incorporating core foundational knowledge about the scope of practice and standards of nursing.

    This positionrequires licensure with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA).This position focuses on teaching Psychiatric Nursing courses and may include teaching in Ponoka, Edmonton and online. Travel may be required,and candidateswill need tomeetthe requisite skills and abilities ofthenursingprofession;and will teach acrossclassroom, lab and clinical settings.Teaching in clinical settings may also entail additional certifications and requirements.

    The applicantwill hold a baccalaureate degree in Psychiatric Nursing, as well as a graduate degree in Psychiatric Nursing or a related field.Doctoral preparationis preferred. Candidates will have notable Psychiatric Nursing education, licensure,and experience. They willhave expertise in a specific area of mental healthanda prior recordof undergraduateteachingin nursing.Adeveloped,or developing,program of related researchis preferred. The candidate will be passionate about building future nursing leaders and have curriculum development experience inhealth-relatededucation.They will be acollaborativeteam member and demonstrate a strong commitment to service within their role.
