Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assemble various industrial computer systems and install components.
  • Perform systematic testing and verification procedures on assembled hardware.
  • Manage and maintain operating system images for installation on various hardware platforms.
  • Maintain checklists, test reports, and procedures that encompass the entire assembly workflow.
  • Package and ship assembled equipment
  • Work alongside the SUBNET technical support team to diagnose and resolve hardware issues.
  • Process and resolve RMA cases; coordinate repairs with hardware vendors on behalf of clients.
  • Work with 3rd party vendors to troubleshoot, diagnose, and implement fixes for hardware issues.
  • Activate and verify licenses for SUBNET software for new customer orders.
  • Act as a primary contact for customer license inquiries, troubleshooting and support for clients.
  • Perform data entry tasks and other administrative support as required.

Qualifications

Required

  • Formal education and training in computer hardware and software.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • General knowledge of the overall structure and organization of computing systems.
  • Previous experience assembling desktop computers and server hardware.
  • Strong familiarity with Windows operating systems, including Windows 7, 10, 11, and Server.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows administrative tools and settings, including: domains, group policy, user management, services and task scheduling.
  • Familiarity with Windows PowerShell, and the ability to write and execute basic scripts.
  • Strong hardware troubleshooting skills; able to systematically identify and resolve root causes.
  • Knowledge of, and adherence to strict electrical safety and electrostatic discharge practices.
  • Ability to work safely with voltages of up to 120 VAC / 125 VDC.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic Data Entry skills.

Preferred

  • Previous experience with a software licensing suite, and/or customer relationship manager (CRM).
  • Familiarity with quotes, purchase orders, order acknowledgements and packing slips.
  • Working knowledge of industrial computer systems and/or relays manufactured by Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL), Advantech, MOXA, or Transduction.
  • Knowledge of, or previous experience with installing and configuring computer networks.
  • Experience working with virtual machines, including Hyper-V and VMware (ESXi).
  • Previous experience scheduling shipments with FedEx or UPS.
  • Ability to handle a fastpaced environment and pressure.

Salary:
$40,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
