What's the ask?

Reporting to the Supervisor, Policy Implementation, the Policy Implementation Specialist is responsible for accurately implementing policy changes for various client groups.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately coding and implementing group policy specifications in the claims and billing systems
Setting up new clients, processing policy changes, implementing rates according to the group benefits policy, amendments and renewals
Updating the internal claims system as well as the ESI system for drug, EHC and/or dental benefits
Verifying system set ups, providing feedback and final approval on review of ESI and internal system specifications
Assisting in claims inquiries or complaints by identifying the source of problem and by processing modifications, if needed
Updating systems in the event of a legislation change
Liaising with ESI (external claims system provider)
Updating system with new fee guide changes
Preparing reports based on insurer/departmental request as required.
Attending ESI meetings as required
Coordinating projects and onboarding of new clients in collaboration with other departments

What does it take?

Postsecondary degree preferred
35 years of experience in group benefits insurance
Knowledge of ESI system i an asset
Extensive knowledge of all aspects of dental coding, fee guides, treatment and practice rules and adjudication and/or
Extensive knowledge of all aspects of EHC benefits, R&C's, paramedical provider services, complex health claims and adjudication
Excellent understanding and knowledge of plan design and policy provisions
Ability to learn different systems
Excellent policy interpretation skills
Prior experience in system set up (an asset)
Excellent analytical skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Superior comprehension, reading and writing skills in English
Bilingual in both official languages
Ability to work under high pressure able to organize and prioritize own work
Detail oriented
