General Maintenance Worker

Company Description
Grout's Welding Limited (GWL) has been successfully providing general contracting services and more for
25+ years and is looking for someone to join our growing business.

As a GWL General Maintenance Worker, you will work as part of a small team to complete facility maintenance work orders in commercial settings, providing necessary support to the Skilled
Tradesworker. Local travel and occasional evening and weekend travel required, noting shift differentials for evening work.


Key Responsibilities
❖ Under the direction of the Skilled Trades Worker:
Review and implement job work orders
Perform regular preventive maintenance
Complete reports in order to relay job status and deliverables to management
Liaise with other contractors and other GWL staff, as required
Use a variety of hand and power tools, and material handling equipment

❖ 1+ years in a specific trade or general construction work
and College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a trade related program
OR 2+ years work experience in the trades


_Preference given to Apprentices registered with Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency (NSAA), or Journeymen
_
❖ Knowledgeable in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, tiling, mechanical, exterior / interior property maintenance
Perform tile work; competent working with vinyl and ceramic tiles

❖ Must have skills and abilities necessary to safely and effectively deliver building and facility maintenance work

❖ Detail oriented and able to ensure completion of quality work
❖ Strong time management skills and the ability to work unsupervised

❖ Able to work independently and as part of a team
❖ Good written and oral communication skills, including English, to be able to communicate effectively with clients, other GWL staff members
❖ Able to use of all basic tools and equipment of the trades efficiently and safely
❖ Manual dexterity and ability to perform heavy lifting (40+ lbs)
❖ Able to squat, kneel, and stand for extended periods
❖ Able to accept and complete all other duties as prescribed by Supervisor
❖ Clean Driver's Abstract (2+ years) and ability to operate company vehicles
❖ Bondable | Willing to complete criminal record check
❖ Received COVID-19 Vaccinations and willing to disclose status


What We Provide

In addition to a full-time position (40+ hours per week), employees are provided a competitive wage, as well as a health spending plan and vacation and personal days after probationary period.

• Compensation_

- $18.00 per hour + (depending on experience)
