The Work


This position will play a key role in the identification, assessment, management, monitoring and reporting of the Bank's Regulatory Compliance Program on an enterprise-wide basis, focused on ensuring alignment with OSFI E-13 guidance.

The role will primarily be responsible for policy management, legislative tracking, RCM issue management and RCM tool administration.

This position reports to the Director, Regulatory Compliance.


Core Parts of The Role Would Be To:

  • Policy Management (40%)
  • Maintain the Bank's Policy Management procedures
  • Coordination of Policy Translation to French with internal communications and vendor
  • Maintain policy listing and inventory on SharePoint
  • Manage quarterly policy reviews with policy owners
  • Review of Policies to ensure alignment to standards and principles
  • Maintain list of 3 lines of defence responsibilities for each policy (i.e. attestations, reporting) and coordinate with accountable parties
  • Legislative tracking (10%)
  • Maintain legislative listing with legal teams
  • Monitor legislative updates via vendors and other sources and track action required
  • Monitor legislative alerts in RCM tool and update compliance assessments accordingly
  • Communicate legislative updates with impacted stakeholders
  • RCM Issue Management (20%)
  • Assist in the maintenance of issues in the Bank's RCM Tool
  • Assist with issues management reporting on a quarterly basis
  • RCM Tool Administration (10%)
  • RCM tool user management (i.e., new requests, employee exist)
  • Compliance assessment maintenance, including communication and stakeholder support
  • Adhoc Activities (20%)
  • Board reporting support as it relates to policy management activities (10%)
  • Quarterly Compliance Attestation delivery (10%)

Let's Talk About You:


  • Postsecondary education in business or finance with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience working within the Compliance function at a regulated financial institution in Canada. Experience should include exposure to regulatory compliance, risk management disciplines and best practices;
  • Experience with policy management and governance
  • Working knowledge of Regulatory Compliance Management
  • Advanced Excel skills specifically ability to create macros, vlookups and add programming where required;
  • Ability to organize and compile data to produce metric reports;
  • Strong organizational skills, demonstrates ability to prioritize assignments, projects and multitask within restricted time constraints;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Proven analytical and problemsolving skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work individually or as part of a team;
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to review one's own work;
  • AML designation (CAMS) is preferred;
  • Experience in adjudicating transaction alerts and monitoring for retail banking an asset; and
  • Bilingualism is an asset (English and French).
