    We are looking to fill a GIS Analyst position in our growing Canadian Operations in Waterloo .

    Working as a GIS Analyst, you will participate in Civil, Municipal, and Environmental Engineering projects on activities pertaining to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Data Management. You will work closely with and in support of project managers, spatial scientists, professional engineers, planners, geologists, environmental scientists, and skilled technicians/technologists to coordinate and implement a wide variety of project solutions and goals.

    Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Preparation and delivery of GIS figures for environmental reporting
  • Deploy and support Survey123, Field Maps and other Digital Field Data Collection tools for a variety of projects across North America
  • Develop custom Survey123 forms and workflows
  • Gather, compile, migrate and convert data sets for project needs from a variety of internal and external sources
  • Research, update, and maintain numerous GIS datasets and templates
  • Evaluate data from multiple sources to determine the quality and ensure data is clean and accurate
  • Champion GIS Solutions for the local office for both data collection and delivery
  • Occasional evening and weekend work required for emergency response team
  • What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Studies, Geomatics or equivalent with 2-5 years relevant experience
  • Proficiency with Esri GIS desktop software ArcMap and/or ArcGIS Pro
  • Experience with ArcGIS Survey123, Field Maps and QuickCapture
  • Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise environment
  • Experience in data conversion, database management, and GIS digitization and analysis
  • Experience using and managing EOS ARROW GPS devices in connection with ESRI tools
  • An understanding of the definition, projection, and application of different coordinate systems for both vector and raster datasets in ArcGIS
  • Capability to produce high quality cartographic products
  • Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Self-motivated while working independently
  • Ability to grasp new technical concepts quickly
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, analytical and time management skills
  • Previous field experience in collecting data with digital tools is an asset
