Position Overview:


Under the general direction of the Director, Provincial Health Contact Center (PHCC), the incumbent is responsible for providing administrative support to the Director and the staff at the PHCC.

The incumbent must be able to act independently, use own initiative, accept responsibility and use good judgment in making decisions.


Experience:


  • 35 years administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of ESP and SAP preferred.
  • Experience recording and preparing minutes and agendas.
  • Experience working with teletriage software and IP telephony would be an asset.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):


  • Grade 1
  • Successful completion of a recognized Administrative Assistant program.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Must be well organized and able to establish priorities to meet deadlines and adjust priorities to reflect changing requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required.
  • Must have excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Works within MHC's core values, philosophy, vision, CQI goals, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to function as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team, including collaboration, team work and good communication skills.
  • Assumes responsibility for ongoing education and participates in professional activities for personal and professional growth.

Physical Requirements:


  • Physical health to meet the requirements of working within high stressed fastpaced environment.


Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT.

The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.

Effective April 1, 2024, Golden West Centennial Lodge will also be part of the WRHA legal entity.
