Summary
The Operations Supervisor oversees the business for the Processing Facility in Stettler.

This includes, but is not limited to, customer service, safety, operational efficiencies, and overall personnel management within the Processing Facilities and assisting Field Services.


Job Duties

  • Schedule equipment and personnel to complete work for external and internal customers
  • Promote and lead GFL's safety programs by conducting safety meetings, safe work plans and job hazard assessments.
  • Complete the daily facility inspection.
  • Ensure all safety paperwork is completed in a timely fashion.
  • Manage equipment maintenance and repair requirements.
  • Review and ensure completion and accuracy of all paperwork.
  • Ensure waste that is processed daily is being tracked based on company policies.
  • Monitor waste inventory levels inbound and outbound.
  • Ensure there are proper tools for the processing tasks.
  • Mentor and train all new and short service workers (SSW)
  • Facilitate or schedule training on all pieces of equipment.
  • Update SOP's for all processing tasks.
  • Lead all processing technicians and activities at the TSDF.
  • Populate the task board daily with detail to guide the employees on daily tasks.
  • Lead by example when required for difficult waste steams or newly introduced processes.
  • Ensure adherence of employees to GFL's Safety Policies.
  • Conduct and document onsite inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.
  • Lead in identifying and evaluating hazards, hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:


  • Previous leadership experience is preferred
  • Chemical and/or chemistry knowledge and experience is a strong asset.
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license; Class 3 or 1 would be an asset.

  • Proficient in the use of basic computer programs.
  • Superior communication skills.
  • Excellent planning, scheduling, and organizational skills.
  • Able to analyze and solve problems independently.
