Job Summary


The Revenue Systems Specialist is responsible for technical oversight and control of one or more of the systems used to support Revenue Administration activities, namely: Integrated Billing System (IBS), Workday Customer Accounts and Collections, Flight Billing System (FBS), the Canadian Annual Aircraft Management System (CAAMS), and custom-built data interfaces between the systems.

The Specialist is responsible for leading business transformation and related change management initiatives that result in improved efficiencies within various NAV CANADA organizations, with a primary focus on the Finance departments.

These initiatives may involve the creation of new business requirements based on changes to NAV CANADA business policies as well as proposing changes to variables within the Service Delivery environment.

The Specialist also supports business systems enhancement activities through development of detailed system requirements, test plans and scripts.


Job Description:


Key Accountabilities:

  • Resolves issues that require crossfunctional solution(s) and provides insights on technical and functional business and systems issues to ensure desired organizational goals are met
  • Negotiates, approves, and rejects proposed system design and system enhancement initiatives as well as the change / enhancement pipeline prioritization. Develops, conducts and plans UAT testing in support of business authority approvals
  • Remains current on trends in business systems, monitors evolving technology capabilities, investigates new concepts, conducts analysis, and recommends priorities for system modifications incorporating additional upgrades / maintenance and system roadmaps
  • Supports the development and administration of the NAV CANADA rates and service charges process
Job Requirements


Education:


  • Graduation with a bachelor's degree or diploma from a recognized university or college. A specialization in Business, Information Systems, or related area is considered an asset.

Experience:


  • Demonstrated experience in development and implementation of system and process, as well as development and execution of system test plans and test scripts
  • Experience in data and financial analysis
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Experience working in Workday or another Enterprise Planning (ERP) solution is considered an asset
  • Experience with data reporting and analysis platforms such as Power BI and SAS Enterprise guide is considered an asset

Knowledge:

  • Indepth knowledge of financial business processes and workflows
  • Indepth knowledge of business function related to revenue and associated methodology and tools for business analysis and systems testing / certification
  • Excellent knowledge of change and project management principles and techniques, problemsolving techniques and strategies, and risk control management

Abilities:

  • Develop a sound business case
  • Recognize when issues require escalation and follow the appropriate escalation path, communicating issues to senior management and functional groups as required
  • Test, determine root cause, and recommend new courses of actions/process improvement
  • Mentor and empower others to problem solve and be selfsufficient
  • Analyze and determine how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and environment will affect outcomes
  • Negotiate and bring others together and trying to reconcile differences

Working conditions:

  • This position is based at Ottawa Head Office but may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement
