Position can be located anywhere in Canada


Responsible for creating and monitoring the current Integrated Master Schedule as well as administering the Oracle Primavera P6 database to maintain project archives for assigned Signaling/Wabtec Projects.

Manages the planning and establishment of project schedules, tracking of progress and reviewing of factors which affect project schedules. Provides technical/analytical and functional support in the areas of project management, project controls and the construction scheduling processes.


Duties:


  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain detailed project schedules/project portfolio within Oracle Primavera P
  • Produce and analyze baseline schedules, monthly schedule updates, change order requests, time extension requests, and recovery schedules.
  • Produce schedule extracts and management reports to communicate project status effectively to executives, managers, and the customer. Facilitate schedule development and maintenance with the full project team (i.e. engineering, procurement, construction, etc.)
  • Develop, coordinate and maintain status reporting and executive dashboards for the financial and schedules aspects of the project within Primavera P
  • Prepare detailed schedule reports as required (i.e. critical path view, baseline vs. actual view, look ahead view, milestone view, "whatif" scenarios, etc.).
  • Analyze schedule information and provide project teams with recommended corrective action to ensure projects meet required in service dates.
  • Develop and implement standard schedule programs, processes and practices to ensure Design and Construction projects are performed in accordance with approved budgets and schedules.
  • Develop cash flow forecasts in Oracle Primavera P6 in conjunction with the Contract payment schedule

Experience/Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management or related field.

years of experience in Project Controls, Project Management, Scheduling concepts (Activity Definition and Sequencing, Resource Estimating, Activity Duration Estimating, CPM and Baseline analysis, Earned Value, project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling, closeout).


  • 10 years rail system project construction and integration experience
  • Excellent knowledge and demonstrated experience in the use of Oracle Primavera P
  • Experience in a project, construction or industrial business environment.
  • Experience with Integrated Data Management Tools such as MS Excel, MS Access, Oracle, etc.
  • Skills and expertise in the following areas: project scope coordination and analysis; project execution plan preparation, coordination, & monitoring; project estimate preparation and coordination; work package review; project schedule development; critical path analysis; contractor coordination and management.
  • Experience with Cost Engineering concepts (project estimating, forecasting, cost controls and variance reporting).
  • Capable of making presentations to project stakeholders and Management.
  • Must be a selfstarter capable of seeking out project related information from project stakeholders.
  • Must be an effective communicator both orally and in writing, as required to interact with a wide range of team members including the customer, executives, contractors, and the internal program management team.

Desired Experience/Skills:

  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP), a plus.
  • Railroad experience, a plus.
  • Personnel management (supervisory) skills, a plus.
  • Business and technical writing experience, a plus.
