Nokia's Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.


As a member of the IP Routing (IPR) customer documentation team, you will be working in an environment where collaboration, autonomy, and innovation are valued and encouraged.

You will be involved in developing documentation for leading-edge routers and related hardware products and will work closely with an extended team of engineers and product managers.


What you will learn and contribute to
The IPR customer documentation team is seeking a highly motivated Junior Technical Writer for our Ottawa, Ontario campus.

We are looking for an individual who can create accurate, thorough, topic-based information in a fast-paced environment to support a variety of information deliverables.


As a member of our team, you will:

  • plan, research, and write customer-facing technical documentation under regular supervision of the team lead or manager
- work closely with R&D, product line management, and other Nokia functional areas to acquire source information and ensure technical accuracy of the documentation
- follow schedules and documentation plans created by the team lead
- modify documentation in response to customer feedback and internal requests
- produce documentation that conforms to company documentation and quality assurance standards


Your skills and experience

You have:
- excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
- the ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changes in priorities, projects, and processes
- strong analytical skills and the ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts

It would be nice if you also had:

  • some previous experience in researching and writing user documentation
- experience working in a team environment
- knowledge of topic-based authoring in an XML authoring tool (preferably Oxygen with DITA XML) and knowledge of file management in Git
- knowledge of FrameMaker + SGML
