Position Overview
First Truck is currently accepting resumes for a seasoned Payroll and Benefits Specialist.

Primary Job Functions

  • Prepare and process full cycle semimonthly payroll for hourly and salary employees in multiple locations and collective agreements.
  • Administration of employee group benefits and Company RRSP plans
  • Prepare, review, and reconcile various payroll and benefit related reports for salaried and/or hourly employees, including monthly journal entries.
  • Perform general ledger reconciliation and account analysis for various payroll and withholding accounts.
  • Perform monthly insurance updating online with company group benefit providers, and internally including calculations for monthly JV's. Maintain insurance files and monitor eligibility and changes as required.
  • Function as liaison between Company employees and various insurance and employee benefit providers.
  • Other payrollrelated tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in payroll and benefits administration.
  • Previous experience with
    Ceridian Dayforce HRIS system and UKG
    HRMS, current payroll practices and worker compensation programs.
  • Above average skills with Microsoft Office Suite ( Excel, Word)
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certifications is an asset.
  • Post secondary education in payroll is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing.
  • Initiativetaker and able to work in a fastpaced, detailed, and processdriven environment.
