As a Contract Faculty member you will play a key role by promoting academic excellence, developing an effective learning environment, and designing, teaching, revising and updating curriculum.

Your previous working experiences will provide a broad range of practical knowledge to enhance the student learning experience.

Contract Faculty may teach in teams or independently and develop/deliver curriculum in a variety of ways including face-to-face (lectures, seminars, labs) and online.

We are currently recruiting contract faculty to teach in our Heavy Equipment Techniques and Heavy Equipment Operator Programs.


The Centre for Heavy Equipment Technology, located at the Frost Campus, is a one-of-a-kind facility that offers diploma programs in Heavy Equipment Techniques, Electrical Power Generation, and a Heavy Equipment Operator Certificate program.

Students participate in a distinctive hands-on, minds-on learning experience through applied field experience, including a paid co-op experience in the diploma programs.

What We Are Looking For:


You must possess a Heavy Equipment Operator Certificate or a Heavy Equipment Service Technician License or Truck Coach and/or Automotive Technician License.

Current industry training and/or certifications, such as Surface Miner, Construction Site Management, Ground Disturbance, Damage Prevention, or Risk Assessment would be considered an asset.


Previous Experience:

At least 5 years of current, relevant experience in the supervision and operation of a variety of pieces of heavy equipment in medium to large scale construction projects.

Demonstrated experience is required in construction site management and/or Heavy Equipment operations supervision (e.g. Subdivision development, road building, aggregate production).

Knowledge of operating exercises, daily inspection routines, equipment maintenance, health and safety procedures, and current construction regulations are requirements of this position.


Specific to our Heavy Equipment Techniques program, at least 5 years experience in heavy equipment maintenance, testing and repair is required.

In addition, technical trainer experience and component overhaul and electronic diagnosis experience would be definite assets. Strong computing skills are required which include the ability to use computerized diagnostic trouble-shooting machinery systems.

Demonstrated leadership abilities through your work experiences such as:
lead hand, field service or supervisory assignments are considered beneficial.


Salary Range
As per the part-time, partial load or sessional salary grid
