JOB SUMMARY
Retention bonus Great job for those who love working outdoors and love to be on the road. Join our team by working on mobile drilling rigs at locations throughout western Canada and the north. Hard, physical work, outdoors in all weather. Help the driller obtain cores samples.
Job includes heavy lifting of augers, shovelling, repetitive lifting and twisting. Those with aptitude for the work can train to become drillers. Great long-term career for those with the right fit. Ability to work safely at all times is of paramount importance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help the driller obtain core samples, which our clients use to design foundations for new buildings, refineries, roads, dams, etc.
- Load drills and trucks with all the tooling and supplies required for the job.
- Drive drill or a support truck to the job.
- Prepare sampling devices, collect samples
- Handle augers and other drilling tools repeatedly throughout the day (this involves heavy lifting up to lbs)
- Keep work area clean by shovelling soil away from the borehole.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- No experience necessary. Must be willing to work outdoors yearround, in all weather.
- Must be able to pass mandatory drug and alcohol screening
- Must have no prior back, shoulder or wrist injuries, and be able to lift lbs to chest level repeatedly throughout the day, in all weather. Heavier weights are lifted with the assistance of the driller.
- Must have excellent endurance and physical strength and ability to work outdoors in all weather (from heat, pouring rain and winter's coldest temperatures).
- Must have flexible schedules and be willing work out of town frequently. Job sites and hours of work change often.
- A good driving record is required (no more than 2 tickets, none serious, and NO DUI's.)
- Being on time is a must, as is the ability to work safely as part of a team.
- Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
