Job Role


Reporting to the
Community Manager, the Head Housekeeper is responsible for coordinating and providing housekeeping services for resident rooms and common areas for their assigned site(s) in accordance with the Supportive Living Licensing Act, Accommodation Standards, and Homeland Housing policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and budget guidelines.


Job Duties

  • Responsible for all tasks related to daily and cyclical cleaning of resident rooms and common areas using standardized checklists and procedures.
  • Organize weekly, monthly, and quarterly, cleaning schedules for resident rooms and common areas.
  • Daily cleaning of resident rooms and common areas.
  • Steam clean/shampoo soft seating furniture and carpets.
  • Suite turnover cleaning.
  • Organize weekly, monthly, and quarterly, cleaning schedules for resident rooms and common areas.
  • Laundering of site linens for housekeeping, foodservices, and resident personal clothing.
  • Ensure housekeeping storage areas and janitorial supply closets are clean and well maintained.
  • Ensure housekeeping carts are clean, tidy and stocked, with all carts containing SDS and safe work procedure folders.
  • Ensure supplies are safely stored and secured.
  • Provide guidance and direction to housekeeping team members.
  • Provide training on housekeeping work procedures and equipment use.
  • Using a standard order/inventory sheet, order cleaning and laundry supplies.
  • Using a standard order/inventory sheet, order site linens.
  • Using a standard order/inventory sheet, order outbreak/pandemic supplies.
  • Respond to emergency situations and individual resident needs or concerns as required.
  • To be familiar with fire emergency and evacuation policies and practices.
  • Delegate, initiate, and complete tasks with limited supervision.
  • Attend staff team meetings.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education, Training, and Experience

  • Two (2) years housekeeping experience preferably in a hospitality or seniors supportive living setting is _
    required_.
  • Supervisory experience is _
    required_.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR or requirement to obtain same within three months of hire is
-
required_.

  • WHIMIS 2015 or requirement to obtain same upon hire is _
    required_.
