    The Opportunity:

    Our client, a well known Canadian owned Environmental Consulting firm is currently seeking a Risk Assessor to join their dynamic team across the nation. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing technical leadership for a variety of projects across Canada, encompassing screening-level to detailed quantitative risk assessments, including soil vapour assessments. The Risk Assessor will collaborate closely with project managers involved in environmental site assessments, contributing expertise to the development of sampling plans supporting risk assessment work. Additionally, this role involves review of proposals and risk assessment reports, with potential involvement in senior project management or coordination for complex brownfield development projects or risk assessments subject to regulatory review.

    The companies projects are based in British Columbia, Ontario, Sask and Alberta the candidate may have the option to work remotely from anywhere in Canada.

    What You'll Be Doing:

    • Acting as a senior technical advisor and project manager for human health and ecological risk assessment projects across Canada, encompassing various scopes from screening-level to complex regulatory submissions.
    • Ensuring the ongoing quality and timely execution of deliverables.
    • Preparing and conducting senior reviews of proposals, reports, risk assessment feasibilities, and peer reviews.
    • Serving as an inter-office liaison and client contact for risk assessment projects.
    • Contributing to thought leadership within the ERA Practice and participating in collaborative projects with other practices, providing risk-related input when necessary.

    What You'll Need to Be Successful:

    • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, with a preference for a degree in biological sciences, toxicology, or environmental studies.
    • QPRA designation interest or CSAP in BC, P.Biol. or P.Eng. designations are assets.
    • Background in environmental toxicology is an asset.
    • Project management experience in a consulting environment is required.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams).
    • Positive, outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent report writing/editing skills.
    • Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
    • Ability to work both independently and in groups, as required for complex projects.
