The Opportunity
Hansler Industries is recruiting for a
Regional Operations Manager to join our team in Ontario. As the Regional Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all business operations within an assigned region.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As a Regional Operations Manager your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing Service Managers within the designated region, including interviewing, hiring, coordinating training, motivating employees, performance management, corrective counselling, and recommending transfers, promotions or terminations as needed
  • Partnering with Human Resources on labour related topics, including sensitive personnel issues
  • Providing direction, support and guidance to the Service Managers as required
  • Reviewing Process Improvement Forms and providing input and direction to Service Managers
  • Working with Service Managers to develop plans for vehicle purchases/repairs/modifications/replacements
  • Providing input for weekly training topics
  • Ensuring standards compliance within the department to ensure a consistent customer experience, both locally and regionally
  • Researching ways to improve business operations, including profitability
  • Managing key assets within the region, such as: shop tooling and equipment, computers, technology and mobile devices, service vehicle fleet, rental/fleet equipment inventory and parts inventory
  • Managing key performance measures (profitability, customer service, synergies/relationships) for each region and by customer
  • Providing detailed feedback and recommendations to other leaders on physical operations improvement opportunities
  • Actively participating with Sales/Rental staff in key customer interactions involving operationsrelated issues such as major service calls, customer damage, or resource planning
  • Maintaining regular communication with each business unit operating within the region to maintain alignment with physical operations and KPIs
  • Act on behalf of senior management in all physical operations matters in the assigned region
  • Reviewing documentation in the event of a workplace incident or accident
  • Ensuring adherence to safety program responsibilities
  • Ensuring all corporate safety initiatives and program are strictly followed in the field

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Postsecondary Degree in Sales, Business, Management or a related discipline
  • 57 years' experience in a supervisory role; proven leadership ability and prior
management experience required

  • Project management skills required
  • Experience in a comparable role considered a strong asset
  • Mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery industry is an asset
  • Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills, including the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to think ahead and plan accordingly
  • Confident selfstarter and a true team player
