SUMMARY


The Inside Sales/Estimator is responsible for managing customer inquiries, providing accurate quotes and product information, and facilitating the sales process for Trimet Building Products (Trimet).

This individual will work closely with the sales, production, and engineering teams to ensure timely and accurate project estimations, contributing to the overall success of the company.

They possess a deep knowledge of Trimet products and services and are able to effectively translate customer needs into successful sales.


Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Inside Sales Representative will turn leads into Sales Orders and interface with Operations to ensure quality and delivery for product delivered to the customer.

Relationship Development and Customer Care

  • Evaluate client needs and project specifications to create accurate and competitive quotes for Trimet products
  • Develop accurate project estimations for customer approval.
  • Work closely with the production and engineering teams to ensure project specifications are clearly understood and executed as per the customer's requirements.
  • Monitor and track project progress, ensuring timely completion and communication with clients.

The incumbent will be able to:

  • Ensure a seamless customer experience, supporting customer satisfaction and building lasting client relationships.
  • Use the customer relationship management (CRM) system to plan for and track relationship development.
  • Analyze project blueprints, drawings, and other documentation to determine material and labor requirements.
  • Continuously improve product knowledge and stay current on industry trends to provide the best solutions to clients.

Sales Strategy

  • Participate in regular sales meetings and contribute to the development of sales strategies and targets.
  • Report regularly on achievement of targets to Sales Manager

The incumbent will be able to:

  • Keep abreast of emerging markets and customer needs as they arise.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales call reports and other documentation of new and existing relationships.
  • Report to Sales Manager on sales target progress.
  • Propose solutions related to performance target challenges.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in related field is preferred.


2+ years of experience in inside sales, estimation, or a related role, preferably within building materials, manufacturing or construction industry.

Strong understanding of metal roofing/cladding, building envelope, steel studs, materials, and installation processes.

Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and team members.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM software.

Ability to work independently and effectively manage time and priorities.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • General Office Environment, with the ability to go onto the shop floor.
