Team Overview:
The Client Onboarding, Know Your Client (part of Anti-Money Laundering, Financial Crime Compliance), and Central New Accounts team is responsible for enabling new clients to transact quickly and efficiently while maintaining up-to-date records and managing risk
The team functions include:
- Onboarding new clients and adding product capabilities for existing clients
- Setting up new accounts, subaccounts, and modifications to account data
- Performing AML/KYC due diligence at onboarding and periodically
- Performing tax due diligence at onboarding and periodically
- Maintaining a Marketplaces framework and onboarding and maintaining our marketplaces
Process Mapping and Procedure Documentation
- Learn and document existing procedures or changes to procedures in process map documents and/or procedure documentation (e.g. work instructions).
- Prepare updates to drafts of procedure and process documentation and manage and work through feedback.
- Utilize knowledge of CM's businesses, products, and risk measures as well as process design skills to provide recommendation insight and analysis in support of process improvements. Participate on and support Lean/Six Sigma processes as assigned.
Training and Communications Material Development
- Prepare training and communications materials drafts as assigned.
- Build and update training and communications materials (on SharePoint, in training presentation decks, and/or on eLearning platforms).
- Take meeting notes and prepare draft summaries for updates to management and/or to teams, as assigned.
Data Management
- Review datasets to resolve discrepancies and investigate anomalies between systems.
- Develop and implement new data management processes, working with the operational and reporting teams
- Utilize technical skills to efficiently and effectively extract and manipulate data from client databases or other source systems to meet various reporting needs (e.g. weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports)
- Manage client expectations, and meet agreed upon deadlines; produce work that is timely and accurate. Strive to provide great stakeholder service.
Change Management and Systems Testing
- Support administrative tracking for changes to processes, procedures, and/or systems. Work with stakeholders to record progress and scheduling for changes.
- Participate in systems testing.
Qualifications:
We are looking for highly motivated, mature individuals with the following attributes:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program; graduating in Spring 2025, 2026, 2027 (applicants are typically between their second and second last co-op term);
- Currently working towards a degree in: Business, Computer Science, Math, Library Science, or Engineering;
- Proficient in MS Office and MS Teams; expertise in SharePoint highly desired
- Understanding of Capital Markets products an asset;
- Understanding of financial accounting concepts an asset.
