The Plant Controller is a key member of the management team and is responsible for maximizing plant profitability.
Key Responsibilities"
- Maintains accurate records of all assets, liabilities and plant transactions in accordance with procedures and direction from the corporate controller's office
- Prepares and maintains cost standards for all products produced
- Measures productivity savings
- Forecasts manufacturing variances
- Manages and coordinates the preparation of departmental and plantwide budgets, forecasts and operating reports
- Coordinates the preparation of the annual Capital Budget and related financial justification, expenditure control, and objective analysis
- Ensures that all reports, accounting data and monthly closings are completed to meet Operations and Corporate due dates
- Takes joint responsibility with the Plant Manager for the planning, taking, controlling and reporting physical inventory counts
- Prepares financial justifications for capital requests
- Plays a key role in assisting Plant Management in driving productivity savings to budgeted commitments
- Assists with internal/external audits
- Performs other related duties as required
Qualifications:
Required:
- Fouryear degree in related field accounting preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing plant accounting and controlling.
- Being bilingual in French and English is a requirement.
- Ability to collaborate and teamwork.
- Good autonomy and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to travel occasionally if required.
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to prioritize.
Preferred:
- SAP knowledge
- Certifications: CPA, CGMA or CMA
