On the floor with the sales team, our
Retail Store Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the store, is a team leader, loves to sell and is committed to providing legendary customer service.

In addition to your daily responsibilities, you will also be responsible for growing sales through effective team management, mentoring, product knowledge, inventory management and be a passionate advocate for the brand.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
-
Sales/Profitability/Merchandizing_

  • Maintain current and up to date knowledge on product and sales trends.
  • Continuously evaluate sales performance and optimize inventory to help meet annual goals and business strategy.
  • Assist in managing labor and payroll expenses to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Support store marketing events and grow relationships in the community to generate brand awareness and drive traffic.
  • Build and maintain familiarity with the local external environment, customers, competitors and talent.

Leadership/Team Management_

  • Leads an environment of learning and productivity by ensuring store staff has the knowledge and skills to meet sales goals, provide exceptional customer experience, and build brand loyalty.
  • Monitor, coach and provide guidance to the store team to deliver an authentic brand experience.
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring and training, mentoring and retaining a high performing store team.
  • Continuously evaluate the quality of service, provide feedback and advice to staff while fostering an environment of collaboration.
  • Lead the midyear and/or annual review process for all teammates.
  • Promote an environment that encourages participation, creativity, and learning by building on best practices.

Brand Experience/Customer Service_

  • Assist the store team in engaging with each customer to create an authentic brand experience.
  • Ensure our customers receive Red Wings' legendary service and fit.
  • Ensure excellence in customer service by monitoring customer feedback and responding to and addressing all customer concerns quickly.
  • Build and cultivate long term customer relationships and lead the team to do the same.
  • Model behavior that respects the background, experience, and cultural differences of others, while upholding the integrity and values of Red Wing Shoes.

Operations_

  • Plan for and achieve excellence in staffing, scheduling, monthly reports, cash management and inventory management.
  • Assist in creating and managing store schedules to ensure they support the needs of the business, seasonal hiring requirements and anticipated turnover.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the store's inventory integrity is maintained through proper shipping and receiving procedures and by communicating concerns directly to the management team.
  • Provide shoe cleaning and conditioning service, minor repairs and coordinate warranty work with local partners.
  • Ensure compliance with all store standards, policies and initiatives.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with the management team to ensure operational excellence.
  • Engage in inventory management including ordering stock, leading inventory counts, tracking and tracing shrinkage.

  • Strong sales acumen.
  • Excellence in leadership, coaching and mentoring.
  • Exceptional customer service skills customers.
  • Success with recruiting and training. Demonstrated ability to motivate & retain talent is essential.
  • Handson knowledge of principles and methods for demonstrating, promoting, and selling products. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, referral & lead generation, & sales techniques.
  • Dependability and flexibility with scheduled work shifts, including weekends.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills that yield results.
  • Effective communication style with all levels of an organization including store employees and the management team.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • High School Education and 2+ year's retail management experience including budget and sales goals management.
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook and Point of Sales systems.
