Latincouver is a non-profit organization that, for the past 15 years, has been connecting over 100,000 Latin Americans with Latin enthusiasts living in Western Canada.

As of today, we are the point of reference within the Latin American community in British Columbia.

Our four pillars are:

Promoting Culture_**: We promote cultural diffusion in Latin America in the Canadian context promoting and enriching bilateral cultural support.
Connecting Business_**: We provide possibilities for Latino entrepreneurship with effective management, thus generating assertive business links in Canada.
Supporting Community_**:We watch over a community in Latin America with cohesion and mutual support, giving rise to growth with firm roots.
Empowering People_**:We generate growth possibilities and empowerment of enthusiastic Latin Americans seeking opportunities in Canada.

Obs:
the
salary for this project will be
$800, with
additional compensation for any materials used. As this is a project-based role,
it won't require a set schedule.

Those interested in the position will meet with our Projects Coordinator, who will provide guidance on creating decorations for various events and Carnaval del Sol.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Design and plan decorations for the event, including floats, costumes, banners, and other decorative elements.
Manage the creation and assembly of decorations, working with a team of artists, craftspeople, and technicians to ensure that everything is completed on time and to a high standard of quality.
Collaborate with event organizers to establish the overall theme and style of the event, ensuring that decorative elements align with the overall vision.
Oversee the installation of decorations at the event site, working with a crew to ensure that everything is properly placed and secured
Manage the budget for decorations, ensuring that all costs are carefully tracked and monitored throughout the project
Attend planning meetings throughout the event planning process, offering expert input on any questions relating to the decorations.

Requirements and skills:

Fluency in English
Spanish is an asset
A minimum of 1 year of experience in event decoration or related field.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Outstanding creativity and innovation skills
Ability to identify and exploit the strengths of different materials and techniques
Ease in working with a broad range of materials, including fabrics, metals, paper, etc
Ability to collaborate with a team comprised of event planners, crew members, and vendors
