***: To provide technical support services relative to the needs of the outpatient pharmacy; to provide medication distribution services in outpatient setting with automation technology; to provide materiel management services (acquisition, storage, expiry date monitoring and accounts payable activities) consistent with the medication distribution system; to provide workload and quality data related to all functions; to support continuous quality improvement activities. The technician performs all activities in accordance with Providence Healthcare¿s philosophy, mission and values.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Perform all duties and responsibilities within RPhT scope of practice as required.
  • Receive, computer enter and prepare/dispense prescriptions; perform third party billing and related documentation.
  • Provide customer service to patients, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Product procurement, replacement, reconciliation, display/stocking and inventory control functions.
  • Administrative duties including filing, scanning, manual billing/reversals, product returns etc.
  • Cash duties include use of POS, cash handling, and cash reporting.

Qualifications:


  • Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program at a Community College required.
Experience in hospital pharmacy setting preferred. Aseptic technique skills required.
Computer skills required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Able to work well on own as well as cooperate with other staff members in a fastpaced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Team player, reliable, accurate and able to work efficiently to meet deadlines.
Satisfactory attendance record.
