The District of Squamish is looking for a regular full-time Economic Development Specialist to bring their expertise to the
Economic Development Department. This Specialist will play an integral role by supporting the growth of our local
economy.

Economic Development focuses its efforts on developing the emerging Green Economy and Outdoor Recreation clusters
while aligning and strengthening Core and Enabling sectors of the local economy.

GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Economic Development Officer, the Economic Development Specialist supports the
department by performing a variety of duties related to customer relationship management, research and analysis, project
management, communications and marketing efforts while also supporting day-to-day administration and contributing
to the department's planning cycle.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service
- Contributes to the success of our team, creation of our community, and delivering outstanding customer service
working together, acting with courage and enthusiasm, doing the right thing, and striving to do better every day.
- Follows the District of Squamish's Customer Service Guidelines to ensure the Delivery of Outstanding Service.
- Supports customer relationship management (CRM) for Economic Development including, maintaining CRM
- Assists in maintain in all collateral for the Economic Development department including communications, marketing
Partnership and Stakeholder Management Support
- Liaises with internal departments (i.e. Planning, Engineering) and external stakeholders to support customer
- Liaises with the business community to assist the Economic Development Officer in identifying needs and challenges
- Liaises with the business community; attends meetings and networking events in support of the Economic
Project Management Support
- Leads projects to support the execution of the department's strategic plan and support its operations.
