    You as a Plant and Operations Manager will own:

    • Oversight of a complex healthcare engineering operation, inclusive of management of maintenance and multiple building projects comprising an overall engineering program of work at Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre.
    • Full accountability for ensuring that all mechanical and electrical equipment such as chillers, boilers, air handlers, and other building systems continually meet the operational/statutory requirements of the complex and further support our contractual goals of continuous operation/ availability.
    • Responsible for programs that ensure the resilience of building systems, including the continuous planning of lifecycle works and being mindful of operational requirements of a 400,000sq-ft mental health centre.
    • Leadership of Continuous Quality Improvement objectives to streamline operations, remove redundancies, optimize asset performance and best utilize staff, systems and budget
    • Oversight of a supervisory team that in turn manage the day to day functioning of the in-house and subcontracted support team. Broad responsibility to ensure that effective maintenance and asset replacement schedules are in place, and ensure the building equipment is tested, serviced and maintained to meet both contractual and Code obligations.
    • Financial and departmental management and delivery of all facilities services at the site
    • Operational jurisdiction of all financial objectives, compliance with Health and Safety standards, equipment and facility performance monitoring, analysis and reporting as well as act as a technical "go to" for the site
    • CMMS systems optimization delivering capacity optimization, data integrity and results Is this the right role for you?
      • A Licensed Professional Engineer - with expertise in complex mechanical and electrical assets. Ideally fluent in Building Systems, and familiar with Automation/ Controls
      • A leader with 5 years of engineering management experience in a maintenance environment. Ideally with experience in healthcare or other complex, high demand maintenance/ production environments.
      • An individual with broad and applied technical knowledge and cost control of building operations, maintenance, health & safety, and construction management abilities
      • A critical thinker with exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, SLA/KPI interpretation skills
      • An individual with proven ability to develop & maintain positive working relations with Team members (internal/external). Ideal candidate will have experience working with a large unionized team of skilled and non-skilled trades.
