Summary:
This position is funded through Ontario's Job Creation Partnerships (see more details below).Administratively supports the Community Events Manager and is tasked with other projects and duties that support the set up and execution of large-scale events that are held onsite.
The Opportunity:
- Assist with planning of onsite events coordinate tasks with other departments.
- Assist with event management during events in conjunction with the Event, Equestrian & Operations Team.
- Assist the
Program Manager:
help prepare, process and file vendor and performer contracts.
- Determine food and beverage needs for each event and help negotiate with suppliers.
- Liaise with partners and supporters to ensure the sponsor requirements such as visibility, complimentary tickets, etc for each event are met.
- Assist with sending out marketing materials.
- Assist Events Manager in duties associated with planning larger longterm attractions coming to the site.
- Work alongside all members of the team to support during setup and tear down of various events.
- Liaise with other event staff as necessary, support other related activities as needed.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Postsecondary education, ideally in a related field.
- Computer literate with recent experience using MS Office programs.
- Ability to work under pressure and on various projects simultaneously and autonomously.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Previous event experience would be an asset.
Additional Qualifications Required:
- An unemployed job seeker or those employed less than 20 hours per week
- A permanent resident living in Ontario who is legally authorized to work in Canada
- Have an active Employment Insurance (EI) claim
or: - Previously established an EI benefit period within the last five years
or: - Paid employee payroll premiums (EI premiums
- Box 18 on your T4) in at least three of the previous ten years (where earnings have been at least $2K in each of those years
or: - Received the Employment Insurance Emergency Response benefit (CERB) within the previous five year
NOTE 1:
Those registered in full-time academic studies are not eligible to be considered.
Remuneration:
$662 (gross) per week provided by the Province of Ontario ($ based on 32 hours per week).
Job Type:
Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay:
$20.69 per hour
Expected hours: 32 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
