About the Opportunity:


As a member of the Nutrition and Food Services team the administrative dietitian will collaborate with Cooks, diet technician, and NFS leadership including the NFS \Supervisors, Nutrition and Food Services Manager, and others to advance the implementation of recipes and menus that support the department's financial, local food and healthy eating initiatives.

The dietitian will work collaboratively with NFS leadership, dietitians, diet techs and food service production and delivery team members to plan and implement room service, retail and other initiatives at the facility level.

The administrative dietitian will help to coordinate inventory and production systems for patient, Veteran, resident and retail food services and develop, educate, implement and evaluate processes and outcomes.

The administrative dietitian may also assist in the provision of nutrition care by assuring the optimal nutrition status of patients who require hospitalization and education of patients as a member of the interdisciplinary health professional team.


About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree with major concentration in Foods and Nutrition required
  • Dietetic Internship Program required
  • Current registration (or eligibility) with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association is required
  • Minimum one (1) year working experience as a dietitian preferred
  • Inpatient clinical nutrition experience an assets
  • Competency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition
  • Experience counselling patients in an outpatient setting
  • Current WHMIS an asset
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and work under pressure of time limitations
  • Demonstrated participation in continuing education and upgrading of skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Strong client focus and ability to build solid client/practitioner relationships
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours:


  • Permanent Parttime, 80% FTE; 60 hours biweekly
  • Hours may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation and Incentives:

$ $42.58 Hourly
