- The Disability Case Manager plays a crucial role in managing assigned disability claims by assessing medical information and job duties, developing case management and return to work plans during disability periods, and delivering prompt and professional service to clients and employees.

Accountabilities:

  • Proactive management of disability claims (STD, LTD, Life Waiver) by evaluating medical information and job duties.
  • Assess extent of disability through communication with applicants, employers, and ongoing updates.
  • Conduct medical investigations and communicate decisions to stakeholders.
  • Implement return-to-work programs and liaise with employers.
  • Evaluate healthcare and rehabilitation programs for effectiveness.
  • Adhere to service level agreements for policyholder claims.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding claim assessments.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant diploma in Kinesiology, Disability Management, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
  • Experience in disability insurance, life and health insurance, or human resources is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Solution-oriented with excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
  • Willingness to undergo a criminal background check.
  • Base salary ranges from $51,800 to $77,700 annually, with additional compensation components included in the total rewards program.
